Rick Carpenter along with his wife Trish has been involved with dog rescues and dog training for almost seven years.
Along side his wife they have fostered 90 dogs over a span of seven years with gratifying results. His belief has been that their passion for dogs enabled to take them from the instability of their previous life and socialize them enough to go into their forever home.
Rick Carpenter is also works with dogs on Nose workshops as well as is Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.
Rick Carpenter has an affination for bully breeds and demonstrates his the countless selfless hours he has dedicated himself to “Friends of the Forlorn” which as Pit Bull Rescue organization. He takes particular in these breeds as they are the most misunderstood and yet the most gentle in nature.
Rick believes that their particular plight is always a challenge but shaping them with the correct training is rewarding.
Another asset Rick brings to the Atlanta Dog Trainer is that he is involved with a group of mentally challenged individuals who are learning to care for and train dogs at “Hands For Hire.” As part of Rick’s responsibilities to this group during their weekly “dog club,” he introduces dogs of various breeds and personalities in order to educate them in the proper care and handling of all dogs.
With dogs being so much a part of his and his wife’s lives, it is its own reward to see a happier dog and a happier family through our training.
This is a just a note to let you all know how pleased we were with Boss’s time with Rick and at the training facility. Rick was so great with Boss. He was loving yet firm and helped us understand that really we need to be trained too! I appreciate, so much, that he would take Boss places and help him become more comfortable with riding in the car, being around other people and socializing with other dogs. We were thrilled with Boss’s recall once we got him home. I was concerned that we wouldn’t be able to get the commands down but Boss was taught so well by Rick that he helped us actually.
Thank you for offering such a wonderful facility for people like us. People who adore dogs and appreciate well behaved dogs, but aren’t equipped to know how to train them without expert help. Thanks for loving Boss while he was with you. It was comforting to us while we were away from him.
Please pass on our sincere thanks again to Rick. He’s just great!!
